IS 'LOW TOX' JUST A CRAZE?

In light of my recent unemployment ('stand down') resulting in complete self-isolation, I have found myself diving deeper into a topic I was already interested in yet had only done minimal research in. Toxic chemicals in our every day life- it sounds rather alarming doesn't it? And when you begin researching it, it certainly is. It is hard to imagine that the products we trust, pay for, believe in and use several times a day or week, are potentially quite harmful. From cleaning products to cosmetics to candles to air-fresheners, could these products really be the cause for increases in diseases such as diabetes, obesity and cancer? Are they the cause for increased infertility rates, hormone disruptions, autism and ADHD cases?

In the Netflix documentary 'Stink', they address some of these environmental toxins and how it correlates to the increase in diseases such as autism, breast cancer, reproductive problems, diabetes and obesity. It is definitely an interesting video to watch whilst in isolation, or just in everyday life!

In this series I dive deep into the everyday household products we use and trust and the potentially harmful ingredients in which they contain. I also look into the optional alternatives that I have tried and tested so that you are not left wondering what to do next.

My hope is that you become more educated through these posts and are stimulated to do your own research. I hope this will also encourage you to try out the DIY solutions that will significantly reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals leaving you, your household and the environment much healthier.
