MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE CAFE

Maybe it's just me or perhaps it's every Aussie out there, but I am obsessed with going to cute cafes for brunch/lunch or just a coffee with friends or my hubby. There's something so relaxing about it. I guess it has kind of become part of our culture and nowadays, cafes are the central place for any catch up! However, being coeliac (gluten free), I often have a difficult time finding a cafe that has more than one option available for me (eg not just a green salad or eggs on toast). Even if they do have a variety of gluten free options available, they mightn't understand the seriousness of my allergy and hence take limited precautions to preventing cross-contamination. This makes it almost impossible for me to eat out without being sick for the next few days!

Yet despite my struggles, I have found my all time favourite cafe at Warringah Mall in Sydney's Northern Beaches.

'Gridlers' is what it's called and their slogan is, 'Simple Honest Goodness'. They have more then one location, however, we have only ever been to the one mentioned above. This is mostly because it is the closest to where my grandparents live making a convenient stop on the way, plus, it is great shopping center! Their breakfast is all day and there are plenty of healthy options to choose from.

As athletically pleasing as the interior is, what gets me is their gluten free crepes and pancakes! I can't explain how exciting it is to find a cafe that makes something you've never previously been able to eat before. Sometimes you'll try it and realise they still need to work on the recipe, but in other cases like this cafe, they have nailed it! You especially know they've nailed it when a non-coeliac like my Husband tries the food and loves it also. So regardless of whether or not you have specific dietary requirements, you must visit this cafe! Have a scroll to see some of our favourite meals we've had here...

Perhaps you don't live close to where this cafe is located. Your best option therefore, is to make a day trip out of it! Visit the nearby beaches (only 7 min away) and do some shopping. You won't regret it, I promise!
